What is Mewing?

Mewing is keeping the entire tongue flat against the roof of your mouth as a resting posture. Popularized by Dr. John Mew, it's claimed to improve jaw and cheekbone structure — both scored by Omoggle.

Correct Technique

Step 1: Tongue position

Entire tongue — tip to back — flat against the roof of the mouth. The back third is critical. Press gently upward and forward.

Step 2: Teeth

Teeth lightly together, not clenched. Lips sealed without tension.

Step 3: Consistency

Must become your default resting posture — 16+ hours daily — to see any effect.

Does It Work?

Evidence supports tongue posture influencing jaw development in adolescents. For adults, changes are modest at best. Combined with jawline training and fat loss, mewing can be part of a meaningful routine.
